Dish Network uses promotional gift cards for its customer acquisition and retention programs, issuing about 300k cards a year at a value of ~$1M.
With Alviere, Dish Network uses FBO accounts, stored value accounts, and just-in-time funding to fund each customers card at the time of each transaction.
These features enable Dish to hold onto cash longer. Plus, if the customer doesn’t spend the full amount on the card, Dish keeps the unused funds.
They also benefit from first-party customer spend data from the cards, and use that data to influence other business decisions like advertising partnerships.
The result is a program that is more cost-effective, and drives new opportunities for for business innovation.
